What this means in practice

• Booking buttons on ryokan pages are affiliate links. We mark them with a disclosure line directly next to the button, because we think disclosure belongs where you actually click, not only on this page.
• Commissions do not influence our verification results. Properties cannot pay for a listing, a better label, or removal of unfavorable facts (such as “tattoos not allowed” or “cash only”).
• We list properties whether or not they can be booked through our affiliate partners.
